How does microneedling work?
The needles create tiny micro-channels on the surface of the skin. These tiny micro-channels stimulate a healing response in the skin, which includes increased production of both collagen and elastin.

How to use the Dr. Pen Ultima A6S Plus Microneedling Pen:
Important: Microneedling cartridges must be sterilized before each use to ensure the treatment is safe and hygienic. It is essential to follow these steps carefully to ensure that the microneedling cartridges are properly sterilized. Here are the steps to sterilize microneedling cartridges:
- First, ensure that you have all the necessary equipment for sterilization; gloves, isopropyl alcohol solution (70% or above) and a clean container to hold the solution.
- Put on your gloves to avoid contaminating the cartridges during the sterilization process.
- Check on your cartridge; ensure the needles are in perfect condition (i.e. not bending) and remove any debris.
- Pour enough alcohol solution into the container and dip the cartridge needle into a sterilization container, then soak for a couple of minutes.
- If you have alcohol solution in a spray model, you can spray it towards the needle head of the cartridge.
- Once the sterilization is complete, allow the cartridge to air dry before using it.
- Finally, your cartridge is ready for use.

My first pen
Using a pen is a game changer. After using a derma roller for 6 months I can safely report – the pen is less painful and enables a quicker, more intense treatment with the ability to select needle depth based on area.
Using more serums during the needling sessions was also different.
Tip: You really need to position the pen at 90degrees to the face at all times as you move around the contours of the face. You dont need to press down.
As I worked I slowly increased the speed. I used the 4 speed on my cheeks but a 1-2 on my forehead.
Changing out the needle depth is easy but as the numbers are etched onto silver – it can be hard to read.
Twisting the battery onto charger I found a little challenging – the two parts twist onto each other / but I could not get them to screw into each other. I thought it was defective initially. The angle has to be absolutely perfect. Batteries didn’t come pre-charged so charge as soon as you get it if you want to try wireless.
The pen came with 2 x 16 needle cartridges. And my needling experience to date has been with these.
I have bought separately the Nano cartridges, 36- and 16-pins.
I look forward to trying it on the body and using BBGlow and other serums.

I have used the pen once so far ,it’s only day 4 so too early to give a thorough description of the outcome . But my skin does appear smoother and fresher , i have been using the Led mask everyday as well . I am very happy with the results at this point . The only negative feedback would be that the needle depth dial numbers are very difficult to see , even with glasses . A little frustrating to be fumbling around .
However i would definitely recommend .

Wish I bought one long ago!
I was a bit hesitant to use it at first. Seemed a bit scary. How wrong I was! It’s simple to use and very effective. The depth I used was up to 1.5mm. Compared to using the roller at similar depth, the Dr Penn (A6S) is waaaay less painful. I couldn’t believe the difference. Can’t wait to use it again! I highly recommend it and it’s nothing to be scared about. Just do it!!
